Overview
Dune Sea is a platforming adventure game where you play as a goose trying to make it’s way back home. It is a unique entry into the platforming genre as it’s a game centered around flight.
For Dune Sea, I worked as both a level designer and environment artist. I aimed to design levels and environments that support and improve upon core mechanics, helping achieve a satisfying and unique gameplay loop centered around movement. Created new assets and utilized shaders, particle systems, and post processing to create dynamic and vibrant environments for each level. I worked from the ground up on over 10 levels, beginning with the design and prototype, and continuously polishing them up to prepare them for release.
I spent significant effort toward the visual design of each level. My goal from the start was to provide a distinct look and feel to each level while still maintaining a logical transition between each. The end result allowed for memorable environments throughout the game that aided the feeling of a grand journey for players.
